Misleading headline?
The quoted tweet says that 21-29% of traffic on twitter is bots.
It doesn't say anything about 29% of traffic having actually measurably stopped, does it?
Elsewhere on HN people are pointing out that the "bot traffic" coming from yandex that has stopped is the web scraper bots updating their search engine.

That isn't even the headline for me. This is what I see:
Far-right bot accounts ‘fall silent’ as Ukraine strikes cripple Russian data centres
This is the second time today that an article on this subject was submitted to hn with an adulterated title. It's too bad too because it's an interesting subject even without the incorrect/bait titles.
That was the article title originally, the site must've changed it. Still pushing that "bot traffic" means "social media bots" though.

Ah thanks I overlooked that this time. I guess I was still feeling a little unimpressed with the previous post and that influenced my impression of this one.

they tend to change the title as they find the one that generates more clicks

> As per the bot analysts at Tom’s Hardware, bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks.
I wonder if this is what is being referred to

That in turn comes from
> Cloudflare reports that bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks
Cloudflare doesn't track twitter posts, does it? But requests to sites on its network. The kind of thing Yandex's search crawlers would be hitting.
Also note (I think) the TH article also initially claimed this was talking about bot posts on social media, but now doesn't?

Funny how this has been posted everywhere. Some random chart showing drop + "posts supporting trump/musk/afd/etc has dropped n%".
Basically no difference. And it shouldn't make a difference. Most of "bot" traffic is routed thru residential proxies and obviously troll farm workers aren't working from DC, but from an office.

Maybe coincidental, but the campaign of spam calls I get that leave voicemails completely stopped when this data center was hit last Thursday/Friday. Before I was getting 5-6 per day.
